The Great Commission Lesson
The Great Commission is a pivotal concept in Christian theology, rooted in the teachings of Jesus Christ. It refers to Jesus’ final instructions to His disciples before ascending to heaven.
- The Great Commission was not limited to the disciples of Jesus’s days.
- It extends to all believers throughout history. This includes us all.
- Christians of all generations embrace this command, recognizing it as a directive from Jesus Himself.
The Great Commission is an assignment given by Jesus to All Believers and not just for the Church alone. Jesus calls every believer to step out in faith and to do their part in the spreading of the Good News about his love for us and his sacrifice on the cross for our salvation. Read what Matthews Gospel records about The Great Commission:
Matthew 28:16-20 (NKJV):
18 And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 19 Go therefore[a] and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen
There are many believers who also believe that Acts 1:8 should be considered as part of the Great Commission.
Acts 1:6-8 (NKJV)
We all can do our part by simply sharing a word of faith with one neighbor, one friend, one coworker, one family member and one perfect stranger at a time. We should always pray for the opportunity and to be prepared, willing and ready to change someone’s eternity. The bible says in Luke 15:7 the angels in Heaven will be rejoicing with you when this happens. Amen
Listed below are some wonderfully made videos by several different ministries or individuals that clearly illustrates our role in the Great Commission.
